Why this matters
Over a third of the world's children cannot read by the age of ten.
Millions cannot attend school regularly. While their parents are at work, they are working too, or minding a house, or looking after someone smaller. The fundamentals of reading and writing are simply missed.
Imagine if each of those children had a book. A book gives a child the chance to learn to read, to see something of the world beyond their street, and to step out of the responsibilities of a day for a while.
Now imagine giving them a book and a safe place online to keep learning from it.

How we are doing it
We have partnered with Bottles 4 Life Inc. to reach as many children as possible.
Tommy and Kenny books are written in deliberately simple language so they work for a child who is not yet reading on their own. Across the series a child meets ten life lessons — faith, fear, forgiveness, grace, gratitude, love, mercy, praise, time management, and the question of who they are.
With only a third of the world's ten-year-olds able to read a simple story, that simplicity is the point. A child should feel capable holding one of these, not defeated.

$10 prints one book and delivers it. That covers the whole journey, from press to a child's hands.
With enough of them we can push back on illiteracy among children, give them somewhere safe to learn, and hand them the one tool that makes every other kind of education possible.
